3. Relocation of entrance of State Courts Building
The vehicular access route to Havelock Square from Havelock Road and New Market Road was closed from 2 December 2016, 10pm, for the construction of the State Courts Towers. The entrance of the State Courts Building at Havelock Square was relocated to Upper Cross Street on 3 December 2016.
If you are going to the State Courts Building by taxi or private transport, you should alight at the passenger pick-up/drop-off point along Upper Cross Street (opposite the HDB Block 34). If you are walking to the State Courts Building from People's Park Centre and Chinatown MRT Station Exit D, you can use the sheltered link way along Upper Cross Street.
If you are driving, click here for parking facilities near the State Courts Building.
We have taken note of the feedback from court users in relation to the relocated entrance and have put in place the following measures:
- Placed a digital sign at Upper Cross Street to guide drivers to the pickup/drop-off point for the State Courts Building
- Installed green roof on the sheltered link way to reduce the ambient temperature
- Resurfaced the pavements along the sheltered link way
